Results Driven Agriculture Research - On Farm Climate Action Fund (OFCAF)

The Agricultural Climate Solutions On-Farm Climate Action fund (OFCAF) is an initiative to help farmers tackle climate change. The program will provide financial support to producers to accelerate their adoption and implementation of on-farm Beneficial Management Practices (BMPs) to lower Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions, support production efficiency, sustainability and resiliency on their farm operations. To assist producers with their adoption of new BMPs, the program will offer producers resources to support BMP implementation and provide BMP design recommendations.

2) Increasing Adoption of Cover Crops

3) Expanding the Adoption of Rotational Grazing

Alternative Land Use Services (ALUS)

ALUS provides expertise, resources and direct financial support to communities where farmers and ranchers build nature-based solutions on their land to deliver ecosystem services to sustain agriculture, help build community resilience and fight climate change and biodiversity loss for the benefit of future generations. There are many communities/counties in Alberta with ALUS programs.

3) Native Prairie Management

4) Pollinator Hedge Row Habitats

5) Enhanced Grazing

6) Other projects that produce Eco-system Services

As part of the Government of Canada’s strengthened climate plan, A Healthy Environment and a Healthy Economy, the new Agricultural Clean Technology (ACT) Program aims to create an enabling environment for the development and adoption of clean technology that will help drive the changes required to achieve a low-carbon economy and promote sustainable growth in Canada’s agriculture and agri-food sector.
